We Have a Lot of Certificates – What Do They Mean?

With our company growing and improving by the day, we’ve accumulated some important certificates and honors. To us, they’re proof of hard work, committing to integrity and quality, representing other business owners like us, and more. But we also understand that not everyone knows what some or all of them mean as well as we do, so we wanted to show off just a little bit by telling you what some of the certificates we hold mean in practice, and why they’re important.

Woman-Owned Business Certification

Everyone can probably guess what this certificate generally means but, just to be a little bit more detailed, we can tell you it actually requires that at least 51% of the company is owned, operated and controlled by women. It also requires the owner or owners to be U.S. citizens or legal resident aliens. This certification isn’t as easy to acquire as one might think, since the process of proving necessary facts can be complicated, but we think it’s worth it since we are proud to be a woman-owned business, and we also know that the certificate comes with a lot of support, programs and other benefits that help us serve our customers even better.

Small Business Certification

This is another certificate that seems obvious on the surface, but its requirements are, in fact, both strict as well as important. To receive the Small Business Certification, the owner has to prove that their business is independently owned and operated, organized for profit and not an overly dominant force in its field. That means this certificate is a great way to encourage innovation and to energize the industry, which is what we are all about.

National Records Center Compliance Certification

The exact meaning of this certification is that we are compliant with all the National Archives official standards (36 CFR 1234.10 – 1234.14) and reporting requirements (36 CFR 1234.30). Now, in all fairness, for anyone not familiar with this particular legislation that probably doesn’t say anything. That’s why we’re here to tell you that, in practical terms, this certificate means we have to uphold the same standards for our records facility as the official federal agencies. And that’s not an easy thing to do, either.
